TERRITORY / REGION:
Cross-country skiing next to Pedraforca
The closest cross-country ski resort to Barcelona at only 140 km away.
It is located on the north side of the Port del Comte massif (Lleida), between the Arp at its lowest height above sea level at 1,830 m and Prat de Llongcon at its highest point at 2,150 m. Tuixent-La Vansa is a viewing point for Pedraforca, the Sierra del Cadí and the whole of the Pyrenees.
Its trails are on the north side, which ensures good quality snow. Routes have a degree of difficulty, with wide and varied trails going through pine and spruce forests.
The resort has a total of 32 km in routes for all levels and quality services both at the foot of the slopes and in their immediate surroundings. Tuixent-La Vansa offers individual and group cross-country ski lessons in its ski school, seasonal groups, a children’s park and intensive weekend courses. It has an equipment hire service as well.
It also offers alternative activities alongside cross-country skiing. Its snowshoe route is 4 km long and while walking, you can enjoy the Serra del Verd’s scenery. Children can take part in treasure hunts and orienteering tours or build igloos.
Tuixent-La Vansa also provides a shuttle service to the top of the mountain (Prat Llong, height 2.075m) which guarantees snow all season and, needless to say, some magnificent views.
Cross-country ski passes
This season the Catalan Cross-country resorts are launching a new digital ticket system that will be more convenient for skiers and allow them to personalise their passes and obtain the offer that best suits them.
